Summer Solstice, June 21,2018, Washington, D.C.

The chart of this summer solstice done for Washington, D.C. definitely reflects what is happening on the issue of emigration, family detainments  and separation of children from their parents. It also reflects the outrage and empathy that has been pouring out as a result.

The sign on the ascendant is Cancer which more than any other sign in the zodiac relates to family and nurturing of children. The Sun which is always in this sign on the summer solstice is just a few degrees from the Ascendant on this chart for Washington indicating that families and nurturing of children is the important theme for this summer. The planet Saturn which indicates restriction and karmic lessons is in opposition to the Sun and Ascendant and the planet Chiron symbol of wounding is in square to the Sun-Ascendant and Saturn so these all form a T-square which is an aspect indicating conflict. Putting it simply, there is a lot of conflict in store within the government related to issues of separating families at the border and we’re already seeing this. In addition, there is another T-square between Venus, Planet of love, combined with the north node of the Moon which is opposed by Mars, (God of war in mythology) aligned with the south node of the moon and both of them squaring Uranus, Planet of disruption and change.

Then there is a Grand Trine  indicative of harmony- in water signs-which shows emotional expression between Planet Mercury -God of communication, Neptune-God of compassion and Jupiter-God of abundance. This aspect  indicates a lot of emotional expression, particularly compassion, and emotional transformation.

I think all of this shows that there is going to be an outpouring of compassion and outrage which overcomes the harsh inhumanity that has been the recent operating mode in the government towards families coming into our country.

On a personal level this is a time to get in touch with how critical we are towards others as well as ourselves and to learn to have more compassion for ourselves and others. There also could be challenges in relationships and more need to negotiate greater equality. Also, there probably will be more sudden revelations about sexual harassment and more feminine assertion for power and equality in the workplace.

P.S. I wrote this in the morning on June 20th and planned to read it over and post it on my blog tonight. Meanwhile, I heard on the news this evening that President Trump has reversed his executive order  separating children from their parents crossing the border illegally so children will not be separated from their parents but there is still a lot to be worked out, particularly getting all the children back with their parents.
