New Moon-May 15,2018-Washington, D.C.
This new Moon is particularly significant because it’s on the same day the planet Uranus, signifying sudden and dramatic change, has entered the sign of Taurus where it will remain for about 7 years. Uranus takes 84 years to orbit around the zodiac and spends about 7 years in a sign. It has been in Aries for the past 7 and Aries is a fire sign which is similar in energy to Uranus. Years ago when I was reading my 1st astrology book entitled “Astrology, A Cosmic Science” by Isabelle Hickey, I remember that in writing about Uranus she said, “The lightening bolt of change in the hands of destiny”. The sign of Taurus is earthy and sensual and does not like changes-it is a fixed sign symbolized by the cow grazing in the field. It is creative, loves beauty and all the sensual pleasures of the earth and being in a body. Uranus induces change that is needed whether we want it or not so it is the beginning of a time period where there could be a lot of changes, particularly related to our Planet, Earth. At this new Moon there is a harmonious trine aspect to the planets Pluto and Mars which points towards transformation and moving forward with whatever projects one is engaged in. Be willing to let go of that which no longer serves you in order to make room for something new. With Uranus conjuncting Mercury be open to insights coming to you and be ready to communicate in a more inspired way. One still needs to maintain focus in communications and structure and discipline in one’s life and with the trine between Mercury, Planet of communication and Saturn planet of structure and discipline that should be possible. One is being pulled toward going deep within for inspiration and transformation due to the 8th house influence. This is all particularly relevant for those born under the sign of Taurus and or having planets in Taurus.
The chart is done for Washington, D.C. and the planet Venus signifying beauty and love, ruler of Taurus, is Rising in the sign of Gemini-sign of communication- so at the government level there may be some beautiful words spoken but there’s a hidden more power- oriented side with the Pluto and Mars in the 8th house. However, they are in the sign of Capricorn so hopefully that means they have carefully planned their agenda this time rather than just blurting things off the cuff. This is important in the meeting with North Korea. Pluto is associated with nuclear energy and with Mars there is a lot of energy going into this meeting and with the discipline of Capricorn perhaps something can be accomplished.
