Lunar Eclipse-Full Moon-July 5,2020-Washington, D.C.

This full moon is the 2nd lunar eclipse in a row showing us that these are unusual times-as if we hadn’t noticed. The eclipses can have an affect over 6 months so this takes us almost up through this presidential term. As usual, I have done the chart for Washington, D.C.

The Sun is in Cancer alongside Mercury, the messenger, indicating an emotional time and the Moon is in the opposite sign of Capricorn which puts the brakes on emotional outpourings or indicates there will be consequences if they are overdone. In this case the moon is widely aligned with Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn all in tight conjunction. This is a time for serious consequences from any overstepping of laws and boundaries. The Cancer and Capricorn planets are being squared by the Ascendant in Aries which is being bolstered by Chiron in Aries and Mars, the ruler of Aries. Mars is God of war and Chiron is the wounded healer. Aries is also the sign connected to our egos so this lineup of planets along the Aries ascendant indicates a wounded ego playing out forcefully. Does that sound familiar? I think this indicates that our leader will become more and more of a demagogue as he feels that he’s losing his power; i.e. that his chances of reelection are getting slimmer

The planet Uranus, the lightning bolt of change, is in Taurus making a harmonious aspect to the Moon. I predict that there will be unexpected changes made in government as a result of Covid19 and the results of mass demonstrations against police brutality and racial inequality.

The planet Neptune, God of compassion, is in its own sign of Pisces and in its own house, the 12th, in a lovely trine aspect to the Sun in Cancer. This could mean some compassionate laws passed through congress related to police brutality against Blacks.

On a personal level we have to be aware that there will be consequences for egotistical, emotional outbursts. At this time when we’re all feeling stressed by the pandemic, we have to let compassion supersede anger and hold angry outbursts in check. It is a time to look within and be ready to make changes in one’s lifestyle and behavior. Changes need to be done cautiously and with careful planning even though we may get flashes of insight about what we want to change in our life. With the north node of the Moon in Gemini as well as Venus, Goddess of creativity this could be a good time to do creative writing. Venus is in a positive aspect to Mars so if you’ve had the intention of writing your memoirs this is an excellent time to take action on that project.

As for the pandemic, there is a surge of cases at this time as Jupiter is retrograding and conjoined again with Pluto, the planet related to death. Now Jupiter will continue to go backwards in its orbit as seen from the earth so the number of cases may fall again but in November the two planets will conjoin for the final time and that will probably result in another spike in cases. Countries, states and individuals would be wise to proceed cautiously in opening up for business and social gatherings.
