Full Moon-March 7,2020-Washington, D.C.

This full moon illustrates what is happening now in a very dramatic way. The Sun in Taurus,a sign connected to earthiness, fertility and creativity is conjuncting Mercury, the messenger of information and conjuncting Uranus who  represents flashes of insight and unexpected changes. Taurus is the sign connected with spring and new growth: the blossoms on the trees, and the sprouting green leaves. As with all full moons, the Sun is opposed by the Moon. This month the Moon is in the sign of Scorpio representing death but also transformation.. On the chart done for Washington, D.C. the Taurus planets are in the 12th house which is associated with the inner, spiritual realm and the Moon is in the 6th house connected to health, work and service. It seems appropriate for this time as we appreciate the beauty of spring while being filled with sadness and fear due to the death all around us. The workers who are serving our needs and those afflicted by this virus are being honored and acknowledged more than the beauty of spring. Also, the situation is so unexpected that most people are feeling as if lightening has struck which is an image for Uranus. It feels like a plague. In addition to all this, the Sun and Moon are in a T-square to Mars, God of war, in the sign of Aquarius, the collective, indicating that this is a humanitarian catastrophe. We all must unite to heal ourselves and our planet.

The Moon in Scorpio is in a positive trine aspect to Neptune, the compassionate one, in its own sign of Pisces telling us that all the death surrounding us is bringing forth compassion. There is a realization that we’re all in this together.

As with the past few full moons there is a lineup of planets indicating death and struggle: Pluto, and Saturn plus Jupiter which can increase whatever is happening. Everything is being uprooted and this will be continuing at least through this year but there is a trine to Mercury so communication is improving and the situation is clearer to everyone. We are all learning from this experience. Pluto also symbolizes transformation which should emerge from the pain of this time.

In addition there is a positive aspect between the planet Venus associated with love and creativity in Gemini, sign of communication, and Mars, planet of action and assertion, so there is  powerful and loving communication happening now and people will become clearer on what needs to be done to keep us safe.

There are two difficult aspects on this chart and since it is done for Washington ,D.C. I think it relates to our government as well as individuals. One of these aspects is a T-square between the Sun-Mercury in Taurus in the 12th house representing communication about practical matters taking place behind the scenes and the Moon In Scorpio in the 6th house of health and then a square to Mars in the 10th house of the Public in the sign of Aquarius which represents groups of people-society at large. This indicates a tendency for secret communication related to matters of health and deaths and then changing the information as it is relayed to the public.

The other difficult T square is between Chiron, the wounded healer and the Nodes of the Moon. The North Node is in Cancer in the 2nd house of money and values and the South Node is in Capricorn in the 8th house of inheritance. This aspect can have several interpretations but in this situation I think that the wounded ego of the president may distort information on economic policy and pretend it’s all for helping and healing but really some of it is for protecting his legacy as a booster of the economy. I think there will be reactions and push back against this in the upcoming election which will be in focus during the next 6 months.

In conclusion, it appears that out of this chaos will come more compassion, better communication and more connection among people. Although there will continue to be some misinformation emerging from the government, I think there will be greater numbers of people who stand up for honesty and righteousness.
