FULL MOON-APRIL 7,2020-WASHINGTON, D.C.
The Mars energy: fiery, energetic and assertive, began with the spring Equinox on March 19th when the Sun entered Aries. That is the beginning of the Astrological year and this year the Aries Sun was conjunct the planet Chiron, the wounded healer, who brings wounds to the surface so we can work on healing them. So, this year began with a gaping wound as we became fully aware of the pandemic that had manifested in our country and around the world and seemed to be out of control. This chart done for Washington, D.C. has 24 degrees of Scorpio rising which is exactly the rising sign on the full moon chart for Tuesday night in Washington, D.C.
Scorpio is the sign relating to death which we are seeing all around us but it also is related to psychological transformation which will be a result of this time. Most of us are spending a lot of time alone and becoming more aware of our internal processes: our thoughts, feelings and insecurities. Out of this can emerge a stronger sense of self and our purpose in life. It’s a dark night of the soul that most of us are experiencing in one way or another.
On the last New Moon, on March 24th, the Sun and Moon in Aries were both merging with Chiron in Aries so there was a lot of focus on ourselves but now at the Full Moon with the Moon being in Libra it is a time to reach out to others and expand our focus with others even if only by phone or the internet. It is the realization that we are all in this together and we can help each other get through it.
On the Equinox there was a lineup of 4 major planets in Capricorn: Mars, the God of war and ruler of Aries; Jupiter, the risk taker and adventurer, the disrupter; Pluto, the God of the underworld and transformation; and Saturn the ruler of Capricorn and the one who requires limits and organization as well as bringing the results of one’s actions. Now, at this full moon,2 of those 4 major planets have moved into Aquarius: the sign of the rebel, thinking outside the box, the friend and humanitarian. The 2 planets are Saturn and Mars so this is a time to reach out to others, to strengthen our friendships and help in whatever ways we can rather than remain in total isolation.
Venus, the planet related to Love and creativity is now in Gemini so it’s a good time for creative writing projects that could help others and it’s in a positive Trine aspect to Mars in Aquarius so reaching out to friends or writing things that are inspiring to others is really helpful at this time.
Uranus, the lightning bolt of change is in a square aspect to Saturn and Mars so unexpected change is happening but there is resistance to it.
This chart is done for Washington, D.C. so with the Scorpio rising there probably will be more dark secrets emerging from the government which could bring about more changes geared to helping those in need which has already begun happening. Hopefully, with the planet Mercury conjoining Neptune in Pisces there may be more compassionate concern for those hurt by this pandemic and out of that could come some major transformation.
People are asking when this will end. Probably it will go on through 2020 as the Jupiter Pluto conjunction continues throughout this year.
