NEW MOON-SOLAR ECLIPSE- DEC.26,2019 AND FULL MOON-LUNAR ECLIPSE- JAN.10,2020
The last new Moon of 2019 and the 1st full Moon of 2020 are both eclipses which are significant times. Eclipses generally have an effect for 6 months. These particular eclipses have some very dramatic aspects. On both of them the sign of Capricorn is filled with a line up of planets including Saturn, its ruling planet and Pluto the planet symbolizing death and rebirth.
On the chart of the new Moon done for Washington, D.C. there is a very powerful and challenging aspect called a grand cross with the line up of Capricorn planets being on the bottom of the chart and the North Node of the Moon being up on the Midheaven in Cancer, the opposite sign from Capricorn. The Sun, Moon Jupiter and the South Node are all lined up in Capricorn in a close conjunction opposite the North Node in Cancer indicating that there is a need to deal with karmic issues based on past actions and working hard to make changes in order to get to a place of nurturing, compassion and emotional satisfaction. Further along is the Saturn and Pluto conjunction also in Capricorn. One needs to get down to business and rectify past mistakes All of these Capricorn planets are squaring the ascendant in Libra on the chart for Washington, D.C, and also Square the planet,Chiron, in Aries- the wounded healer in the 6th house of work and service opposite the Libra ascendant indicating relationships. I would interpret this to mean that wounded issues of self esteem can interfere with relationships and the only avenue forward is to deal with past mistakes and make amends. It’s a dark night of the soul time. I think this is evident in the situation that has arisen in the White house with the president acting on his own in a way that indicates his own insecurities and lack of relationship with others.
This is a time that we all have to deal with these issues to some extent but particularly people born in the Cardinal signs: Capricorn, Aries, Cancer and Libra or having Moon or Ascendant there.
On the Full Moon chart which is occurring Jan.10th there is again a large lineup of Planets in Capricorn and on the chart of Washington, D.C. they fall into the 8th house which is the house of death and rebirth-psychological transformation. There is a close conjunction of Saturn, Pluto Mercury and the Sun indicating it being an important time for transforming communication and making verbal or written amends for past mistakes. If this is done there will be emotional and spiritual satisfaction indicated by the Moon trining Neptune and opposite all the Capricorn planets. With the trine between Uranus and Jupiter and Uranus just going direct having been retrograde, there will probably be some unexpected upheavals that will bring about changes. One needs to learn flexibility and going with the flow.
