AUTUMN EQUINOX-SEPT.23,2019-WASHINGTON, D.C.-3:51 A.M.-E.D.T.

The Equinoxes and Solstices usher in a new season so they are important moments in the astrological calendar. In the autumn equinox the Sun enters the sign of Libra and it’s the official beginning of the Fall season. Libra is the sign of relationships, diplomacy and artistic endeavors. At this time Chiron, the wounded healer, is opposing the Sun in the sign of Aries so there is a conflict between the needs of relationships and meeting one’s personal needs. The challenge is to find a balance so that one can serve the needs of others-make compromises- but still take care of one’s own needs. Libra is further emphasized as the planets Venus and Mercury are also in this sign and Venus is the ruler of Libra so that being creative in communicating with others is assisted by these energies. However, things are very complex on this chart as there is also a challenging t-square between the Venus-Mercury in Libra and the planet Saturn in Capricorn-the sign that Saturn rules and the Moon in Cancer-the sign ruled by the Moon. This means that being creative in relationships can conflict with taking care of one’s emotional needs and also one’s professional goals. There’s a lot to deal with at this time. There is another t-square with Jupiter,Mars and Neptune that indicates problems if one takes unnecessary risks-a lot of confusion can be created.

On the positive side, the mystic rectangle that was in the recent full moon chart is still happening so there is the possibility of major transformation in one’s work, health and emotional life, especially if one tunes into the inner world through meditation or dream analysis.

I have done the chart for Washington, D.C. so all of this applies to the functioning of the government. There will probably be more conflicts between diplomacy and trying to satisfy personal ego needs. Also, there could be a lot of confusion because of risk taking or impulsive behavior. However, some disasters may be averted through sensible and compassionate action and and service for the good of all undertaken by a few.
