Full Moon-Sept.14,2019-Washington, D.C.

This is the full moon in Virgo so the Sun is in the sign of Virgo, an earth sign, representing work, service, healing, organization and perfectionism. This is intensified by the fact that Mars-god of action-is aligned with the Sun. Venus-planet of love and creativity and Mercury, the messenger, are only 8 degrees away-also in Virgo. The energies of Virgo are very strong on this full moon. As with all full moons, the Moon is in the opposite sign which is Pisces, a water sign, signifying deep feelings of compassion and spirituality. These feelings are intensified by the conjunction of the planet Neptune which is actually the ruling planet of Pisces. The challenge on any full moon is to integrate what appears to be opposites.

On this full moon it is easier to integrate these seeming contradictory qualities as there is a formation called a Mystic Rectangle. The planets in Virgo are in a positive trine alignment with the planets in another earth sign, Capricorn. They are Pluto and Saturn as well as the South Node of the Moon. This configuration indicates the emergence of past life karma as well as earlier times in this life and the opportunities to transform and atone for one’s mistakes. The Virgo planets are also in a positive sextile aspect to the north node of the moon in cancer which helps one to nurture and receive nurturing. The planets in Pisces are in a positive trine aspect to the north node in Cancer so one can manifest compassion by nurturing others. The Pisces planets are also in a sextile aspect to the Pluto, South Node, and Saturn in Capricorn so it is easier to have compassion for one’s own and other’s foibles and transgressions. It’s the time for forgiveness, making amends, and starting anew which coincides with the Jewish day of atonement. On this particular Full Moon, the planetary lineup makes this process flow more smoothly.

There is also a t-square on this chart with Jupiter in the center making a challenging square to the Virgo and the Pisces planets so there could be a tendency to take risks which could upset one’s work achievements and one’s resolutions to be more sensitive and compassion. One needs to curb any tendency to blurt out grievances or annoyances with family or co-workers. It’s also important not to take unnecessary risks.

I have done this chart for Washington, D.C. and the ascendant is Cancer which relates to home and nurturing. This Cancer ascendant is in a challenging square aspect to Chiron in Aries. Chiron represents the wounded healer and Aries the planet of action so in government the wounds may become manifest-particularly from the tendency to blurt out whatever comes to mind and ego needs taking center stage with the Jupiter t-square. Taking care of the needs of others is the cure.

Everyone’s chart is unique so having a reading shows one how the Full Moon affects your own planets and significant points.
