Full Moon-Lunar Eclipse-July 16,2019, Washington, D.C.

This is updated since I posted it yesterday. I had failed to emphasize the need to balance one’s family life and one’s career indicated by the opposition between Cancer and Capricorn.

This Full Moon is a Lunar Eclipse so the effects will be felt over the next 6 months. The theme is similar to that of the new Moon 2 weeks ago but there is an even stronger opposition between the sign of Cancer where the Sun, North Node and Venus are residing and the sign of Capricorn where the Moon, Pluto and the South Node reside at this time.Cancer is the sign connected to home and family and Capricorn is the sign associated with career. Venus-Planet of love and creativity is in the sign of Cancer along with the Sun and North Node  and is in direct opposition to the Planet Saturn-Planet of boundaries and discipline along with Pluto,Planet of transformation and the South Node- so the theme of nurturing oneself and others in the family as opposed to setting boundaries and goals in one’s career is strong now and for the coming months. It’s important to balance these energies in our own life so we avoid the extremes of over- indulgence or self-denial. One needs to take care of oneself and family but pursue career goals as well. To take care of family and friends but set limits so we don’t use up all our energy and have plenty left for our career. The oppositions of full moons indicate the need for balance as opposed to excess.

Another important aspect on this chart is the Square between the planet Mars-representing action and self-assertion- and the Planet Uranus-“the lightening bolt of change”. This energy can result in accidents if one is overly aggressive or reckless but it’s important to be open to making changes in one’s life.

The Planet Jupiter representing enthusiasm and a sense of adventure is a wonderful energy for summer travel and adventures particularly combined with a positive trine aspect to the Mars in Leo-it’s the adventuresome spirit but reasonable caution needs to be practiced as well.

The Planet Neptune-ruler of the spiritual dimension is in a harmonious trine to the planet Venus so it is a good time for love and relationships along with experiencing and practicing compassion. At the same time since Venus is getting an inconjunct from Jupiter one’s need for adventure and freedom could sometimes be at odds with considering a partner’s needs.

The chart is done for Washington, D.C. so in the government these same themes will be evident and it can be a struggle between self-indulgence and meeting other’s needs and between compassion and setting boundaries. These extremes are evident in the different reactions to the immigration situation by Republicans and Democrats
