Full Moon-Nov.23,2018-Washington, D.C.
This full moon the emphasis is on travel, adventure, teaching, and taking risks with the Sun in Sagittarius. It is the sign that is connected to optimism and gratitude so Thanksgiving Day is a very appropriate holiday to be in early Sagittarius. There is an extra emphasis on these qualities as Jupiter which is the ruler of Sagittarius has entered his own sign and will be there for about a year. So-for those born in the sign of Sagittarius or have their Moon or Ascendant there, it is an expansive time-a wonderful time to undertake new projects, travel or teach- whatever one feels enthusiastic about. The Moon is in Gemini, the opposite sign to Sagittarius but it isn’t so opposite since it involves communication and intellectual pursuits such as speaking and writing. However, there is a challenge involved here since the Planet, Mars-God of war- is in a square (challenging) aspect to the Sun and Moon and it is in the sign of Pisces which connects to the inner world-the unconscious. Therefore, one needs to be somewhat cautious in expressing oneself so as not to blurt out old grievances or secrets that should not be revealed. This can be difficult for Sagittarius as they have a tendency to speak out and think about it later. That can be true for Geminis also.
Another strong aspect on this chart is the Grand Cross with Uranus, Planet of unexpected change opposite Venus, Planet of love and both of them Squared by the North and South Nodes of the Moon. There could be unexpected disruptions in relationships particularly for people born at the ends of the Cardinal signs which are Aries, Libra, Capricorn and Cancer.
I have done this chart for Washington, D.C. and our president has his Sun in Gemini and his Moon in Sagittarius so he has a tendency to blurt things out and then often change his statement the next day. This may become more pronounced at this time. The sign of Virgo is on the Ascendant which is a sign connected to caution and down to earth organization–being prepared. However, on this chart it is exactly opposite Neptune in Pisces, the epitome of the mystic and dreamer. In an individual’s chart this would call for a balance between being practical and also spiritual. I don’t know how this will play out on a government level. It would be positive if the government could enact policies such as prison reform or immigration reform that would be both practical and compassionate. In the new senate there will obviously be a lot of communication and probably some emotions and resentments will come out. (The Mars in Pisces squaring the Moon in Gemini) There will also probably be some more secrets emerging that can be very disruptive for the current government’s relationships -Uranus in the 8th house is associated with sudden, unexpected secrets emerging and it’s opposite Venus in Libra which is relationships. Also, the planet Mercury is squaring Neptune which shows confusion in communication. This can play out on a personal level or in the government.
